Chaldaic Rites – The Secret Teaching of Neoplatonism

Οso called Chaldean Customs is a deeply spiritual text that occupied important representatives of Neoplatonism, such as Porphyry and Iamblichus, but also later philosophers such as Michael Psellos. Although only a few fragments of the original poem have survived, its writing is attributed to Julian the Theurgist, who received it during a mystical experience in the 2nd century AD. According to Proclus, the importance of this work is as great as that of the Platonic Timaeus as it reveals a comprehensive system of metaphysical worldview about the relationship of the Creator with the world. Together it constitutes a guide for the salvation of the soul, which is called to return to the Eternal and the True, through the coordination that will bring about the philosophy and the operatic, with the very works of the gods.
