The Teachers of Alexander the Great

Ο Vangelis Ladopoulos was born in Thessaloniki. A child of Ano Polis, he played in the neighborhoods of Thessaloniki, where he grew up. He finished the 7th High School, studied Sub-Engineering and continued his studies in Pedagogical Sciences. Afterwards, he studied Kindergarten and completed his studies with a master's degree in "Educational Sciences".

He served as a teacher in A'thmia education for 28 years. As a teacher he worked in all types of schools: single-seat, multi-seat, A. m. E. A., full-time also in administration, where he dealt with European programs. Finally, he served as a School Counselor in Chios. He attended numerous conferences, seminars, in some of which he made presentations.

At the same time, he has been accredited for many years as an Adult Trainer. He particularly dealt with illiterates, Roma, juvenile delinquents, women from remote and mountainous areas, and prisoners. He was lucky enough to serve in the central administration of the General Secretariat of Adult Education, to travel all over Greece and organize educational activities, training seminars for Adult Educators...

He considers the experience he gained from the educational activities at the Larissa Detention Center (prison for adult men) to be particularly important. He was a pioneer in this field, as long as one considers that at the time of those interventions, not only had Second Chance Schools not been established, but it was taboo for instructors to enter the prison. In the social and trade union field, he was a trade unionist, an elected member of the NT of ADEDY for nine years. He also served for a short period of time as vice president of the Larissa Teachers Association.

Finally, he published a series of educational content articles in the daily and periodical press, and engaged as a radio producer in an educational content broadcast.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Writers of Northern Greece (ELBE).

He has two  children, Dimitrios – Alexandros and Despina – Evangelia.
